Sustainable Richness

I’ve experienced different aspects of success at various times in my life. The bit I hadn’t quite managed before was sustaining that success without  burn out and exhaustion.  At other times it was the discovery that I’d rushed headlong, enthusiastically into completely the wrong situation. It hasn’t come naturally to begin taking the time to allow a process to unfold, or to ensure that I’ve made the right choice of direction, but I’m beginning to do that now.

Running on adrenaline, or worse still cortisol, is unhealthy and unsustainable. Learning to live on serotonin and dopamine is a way of sustaining richness in all aspects of life. The healthy mind-body-soul connection includes putting out receptors for the right neurochemicals, the right people, the right ways to make a living – ways that feed your heart. Doing this avoids the emptiness that comes after the adrenaline high has worn off, the money is spent or lost and that other person proves to be as empty and needy as you were when you both met.

Learning to place your trust appropriately and then to relax into fruitful activities and relationships may require support for the repatterning into sustainable richness. I think it’s going to be worth it. Corrina.

I so agree! I can’t tell you how many all nighters I did in my 20′s only to find I’d missed out on other things in my life more important!

    Thanks for sharing.
